SEND Outreach Programme to Mainstream Settings

Marlborough School is working with Bexley LA to develop inclusive practice and knowledge in Bexley mainstream settings by delivering a new outreach programme from the special schools to enhance the offer in mainstream schools for children and young people with more complex needs.

Aims of the outreach program:

To enhanced the practice and skills in mainstream schools to meet needs of a wider range of learners with increasingly complex needs

To work with schools to enable each student to attend their mainstream setting full time and to ensure they are comfortable and happy in their setting

To reduce the number of placement breakdowns and requests for special school places where parental preference remains a mainstream setting

To celebrate and share best practice and success amongst schools.
